Mapex QR Series The Mapex QR series is an entry-level drum set that has been discontinued. While it is no longer in production, the company has released a new line called the Horizon which is very similar to the QR and offers upgraded hardware and lugs. Click here to see the Horizon Mapex Drum Sets.  The Jazz configuration (above) comes with thin basswood shells, double braced hardware and throne. Matching wood bass drum hoops add a unique look not commonly found on beginner drum sets.  The Fusionease configuration comes with smaller tom sizes, but offers the same great sound as it's larger counterparts.  The Mapex Q line of drum sets is similar to the QR line.
