Kanda Bongo Man Kanda Bongo Man is a famous musician whose largest contribution to the world of music is probably the way he redefined soukous music. He completely changed the existing format for writing this style of music. The genre began in the 1930's and '40's and was kind of stuck in a rut format wise until he came along in the late 1970's and early '80's and started re-arranging material.
