Flam Paradiddle
The flam paradiddle rudiment (shown above) is a variation on the single paradiddle. It involves the same sticking pattern as the standard paradiddle except you play a flam on the first note.
Below are a few exercises to help you practice this rudiment. You will notice that eighth notes are mixed in with sixteenth notes. This will help you to control your sticking by speeding up and slowing down within the pattern. Remember to practice with a metronome to ensure you stay on time.
