Evans Drum Heads

Evans drum heads have been in production for over forty years. The first were usually made of various animal skins. In 1956 they began producing "skins" out of synthetic materials(plastic/polyester). Although animal skins are not used anymore (except for world percussion)they are still often referred to as "skins".

Evans Resonant Drum Heads

The resonant drum heads are the ones found on the bottom (front for bass) of the shells. They control overtones and provide increased or decreased tone depending on their construction. Clear coats usually increase the sustain of the instrument and create a brighter tone. A resonant bass head can be customized with logos, colors or artwork to create a unique look for your set.
