Electric Drums
Today's electric drums are far superior to their predecessors. The earliest electric models had technical issues with sensitivity, triggering and dynamic range. For this reason, many of the first drums were used for genre specific music such as techno, rap or rock. But over time, electric instruments have evolved into a near perfect re-creation of their acoustic cousins. In fact, many artists prefer an
electronic drum set
over acoustic drums because you can produce so many more sounds than an acoustical set. Plus, you can add your own samples into the module and create effects that are impossible to produce with acoustic drums.
These drum machines from BOSS are basically portable drumsets. With the model shown above, you get four different sets of drums, over ninety samples and a MIDI interface. You can see more drums from BOSS by clicking the picture above. You can also read reviews (if available) of different products. Here is what someone had to say about the DR-550 shown above:
This is a super easy to use drum machine. You can create beats live, use presets, or make custom beats a note at a time (depending on the tempo you can edit all the way down to 1/32nd or more depending on the way you link the measures). Afterwards, click play and link it all together.Ive had this same one for a long time (10+ years) and its still fun to mess with.
