Beginner Drum Lessons
These beginner drum lessons are designed to take you from little to no knowledge of drums to a basic understanding of drumming concepts. I've divided the lessons up into different sections with each section having it's own block of lessons tailored to the beginner drummer.  Beginner Drum Stick Lessons:These lessons will cover the basics, such as how to hold your drum sticks, and will explain the difference between various sizes, such as 5B, 5A, 7A's and so on. You'll also learn how wood types and tips affect sound and the anatomy of a drum stick. All these lessons lead you to the finale which helps you know how to choose drum sticks.  How To Read Drum Music:These drum lessons will teach the beginner drummer about the musical staff, how notes are used to represent drums, note values and time signatures. I'll show you how to count measures and you'll find short exercises that introduce you to quarter, eighth and sixteenth notes.  How To Read Drum Tabs:After you've learned about note values and sheet music, you can learn how to read drum tabs. These beginner drum lessons cover how to count tabs, breaks down the symbols used and even offers a printable drum tab legend.  How To Tune Drums:An overview of the tools necessary for tuning your drums. Learn how to change your drum heads, switch out snare wires and learn how different wire strands can affect your sound. Video Tutorials and step by step illustrated instructions. 
The best way to learn how to play the drums is by starting with the snare. One mistake the beginner player often makes is to just start pounding away behind the drumset. That may certainly seem more fun and you can certainly do so. But, by starting with the snare, you will be building the foundations necessary to become a great drumset player. Single Vs.
